Serbian Army Aviation Command

On December 24th 1912, Serbian minister of War, Vojvoda (Duke) Radomir Putnik passed a decree establishing "Vazduhoplovna komanda" (Aviation Command). Vazduhoplovna komanda was directly subordinated to the Serbian Army Supreme Command. 

All units were based on Trupalsko Polje, near Nis.

There, since 1908, Stanica golubija posta was established  (Pigeon Postal Service Station).

On May 12nd, 1912 first 4 volunteers were sent to France for pilot training.

On July 23rd, 1912 - Mihailo Petrovic got FAI degree No. 979 becoming first Serbian military pilot.

In December 1912 Vazduhoplovna komanda had 11 airplanes (8 bought in France, 1 donated from Russia and 2 impounded while on route to Turkey) and 3 balloons.
